Beauty queen and actress Rabiya Mateo has announced her departure from the morning variety show ‘TiktoClock.’
In our interview on Saturday, May 11, the Kapuso star expressed her gratitude for the exposure and opportunities the show provided.
“In terms of hosting, ‘yon nga po, with a heavy heart, katatapos lang po ng kontrata ko with TiktoClock. I’m very blessed for that exposure…Ako, I’m so proud of TiktoClock, nami-miss ko na rin po, actually, ‘yong mga co-host ko doon.”
“Pero gano’n talaga ang buhay—may mga desisyon, may mga path na nag-e-end. However, sana po in the future, mag-meet ulit kami,” she added.
Despite her departure, Rabiya is optimistic about future opportunities, expressing hope that she might reunite with the ‘TiktoClock’ team someday. For now, she is focusing on honing her acting skills, particularly with her upcoming special participation in GMA Network’s new drama series, ‘Pulang Araw.’
“Mayro’n po akong special participation sa Pulang Araw. Hindi ko pa po mase-share ang role ko kasi it’s a surprise. Pero bilang isang Pilipino po, nakaka-proud na somehow feeling ko nabalik din ako sa 1930 era,” Rabiya revealed.
She is currently immersing herself in heavy drama, acknowledging the need for continuous practice to perfect her craft. “Ngayon, tina-try ko naman po ‘yong mga heavy drama, iyakan talaga. Siyempre, it takes a lot of practice para sa aspeto na ‘yon,” she said.
Rabiya is determined to improve, admitting that she didn’t start as a top-tier actress but is eager to learn and grow. “Alam ko naman po na hindi ako nag-umpisa bilang magaling na magaling na talaga. But I’m willing to learn. Sana po mabigyan tayo ng role na mabibigyan ko rin ng justice.”
Previously, Rabiya starred as ‘Maria Makiling’ in GMA Network’s afternoon primetime series ‘Makiling.’
In addition to her acting career, Rabiya Mateo has been named the newest ambassador for Royal Aesthetics Philippines. She joins the company’s CEO, Arlene Cris Damot, who was recently crowned as the 46th Mrs. Universe 2nd Runner-Up.
