Showbiz columnist Ogie Diaz has broken his silence regarding the cyber libel case filed against him by Bea Alonzo on May 2, expressing his thoughts in a significant social media post.
In an Instagram story, Ogie issued an apology to the media for not releasing an official statement regarding Bea’s cyber libel case.
He assured reporters that the matter would be addressed in due time, acknowledging their diligence in seeking balanced reporting.
Ogie wrote.
Ogie’s statement referenced the breakup of Bea Alonzo and Dominic Roque, suggesting that despite recent developments, many still hope for a reconciliation between Bea and her former partner.
In February, Bea and Dominic jointly announced their decision to end their engagement.
On May 2, Bea took legal action by filing three criminal cases for cyber libel against showbiz columnists and online hosts, including Ogie Diaz and Cristy Fermin, along with their co-hosts on their respective online programs.
The cyber libel cases were filed at the Quezon City Prosecutor’s Office, with Bea accompanied by her lawyer Atty. Joey Garcia and manager Shirley Kuan during the filing of the complaint.
