Actress Liza Soberano has shown her support for fellow actress Bea Alonzo, who recently took legal action against Cristy Fermin and Ogie Diaz, Alonzo’s former talent manager, by reposting a report on the matter via her X (formerly Twitter) page on Thursday, May 2.
The report, sourced from entertainment blog Fashion Pulis, featured a photo of Alonzo during the filing of cyberlibel charges before the Quezon City Prosecutor’s Office. Soberano’s engagement with the post was further evident as it appeared in the likes section of her profile.
While Soberano refrained from adding any commentary to her social media activity, the gesture spoke volumes to some netizens, signaling her indirect support for Alonzo’s actions. As of writing, Soberano has not provided further remarks on the issue.
Earlier, Alonzo lodged three separate cyberlibel complaints against showbiz columnist Fermin, talk show host Diaz, their co-hosts, and an anonymous netizen who allegedly impersonated someone close to Alonzo and made false claims on her behalf.
According to Alonzo’s representatives, the actress was the victim of “false, malicious, and damaging information” propagated by Fermin and Diaz through their respective media platforms.
In response to the legal actions, Diaz took to social media to express his stance, noting that he would address the matter at the appropriate juncture. Fermin, however, has yet to issue any public statement regarding the allegations leveled against her.
