Liezel Lopez, known for her role as the antagonist in the latest Kapuso show ‘Asawa ng Asawa Ko,’ expressed gratitude for the variety of roles she has been offered, rejecting the notion of typecasting.
Despite portraying antagonistic characters multiple times, Lopez dismissed the idea of being typecast during a press conference held at the Paramount Coffee in Davao del Sur.
“Not at all,” she affirmed. “Actually, lahat po ng roles na binibigay po sa akin, kontrabida or bida, or best friend, sobrang grateful po ako doon.”
Rather than viewing it as typecasting, Lopez sees each role as an opportunity to expand her versatility as an artist.
Before embodying the malevolent new wife in ‘Asawa ng Asawa Ko,’ Lopez portrayed the villainous character Zandra in ‘Voltes V: Legacy.’
Reflecting on her previous role compared to her current one, Lopez acknowledged the challenge, particularly in embodying the extreme malevolence of Shaira.
Kailangan mayroon akong one thing na maisip na tama where I really have to fight for it doon sa gusto kong gawin kahit na ‘yun nga, mali sa mga viewers.”
