At the ‘Seoulmeyt’ press conference held at La Reve Events in Quezon City on May 9, actress Kim Molina revealed a secret no one had known until now: she and her boyfriend Jerald Napoles had a falling out during one of their projects.
Molina began by sharing an interesting fact about professionalism. When it comes to their craft, nothing can come between them, even if they are not okay.
“’Pag kasi kami ni Je nagtatrabaho, I think ang swerte ko lang kasi katulad ngayong kasama ko sa buhay at tsaka ka-loveteam. Kasi hindi talaga mahahalata ng mga katrabaho namin na may mangyayaring pag-aaway or anything,” the actress said.
Molina later revealed that during the shooting of their 2021 movie ‘Ikaw At Ako At Ang Ending’ in Ilocos, she and Napoles broke up. The reason for their split was the problems that “piled up” and the pressure of living together for the first time.
“First time naming magka-live in. Lahat ng problema namin is hindi namin mapagtuunan ng pansin na pag-usapan. Kasi kailangan naming kumita, kailangan naming magbayad ng bills, kailangan naming mag-work.”
Caving into the problems, the actress recalled, “Break na tayo! Eh di break kami.”
But it seems like fate did not want them splitting up. Upon reading the next sequence for their shoot, Molina discovered that they would be doing a bed scene.
“Tinignan ko ‘yung sequence, wooh! bed scene kinabukasan. Paano kaya namin ito gagawin. Magkaaway pa naman kami,” she said.
Molina then kept on sharing secrets, including the habit of Napoles whenever they were in a disagreement.
“Eto kasing si Je, hindi po kami nakakatulog nang hindi kami nagiging okay. So, naging okay naman na po kami. After noong bed scene na…hahaha!” she joked.
This was not the first time they broke up at work. There was also a time that they had to show they were in love during their stint in ‘Rak of Aegis.’
“So, basically, naayos naman namin ang aming problema pero walang nakakaalam. Kinabukasan okay kami tapos natapos namin ang movie. Ngayon lang namin nasabi. So, ganoon po kami talaga ni Jerald mag-work. Kasi nangyari na siya before noong ‘Rak of Aegis’ days. So, we have to fall in love all over again on stage without the people knowing that there is something happening off stage.”
