Theater actress Isay Alvarez and fellow actress Kim Molina have reunited in their new film ‘Seoulmeyt’ after experiencing tensions during the 2022 presidential elections.
Alvarez, who campaigned for President Ferdinand ‘Bongbong’ Marcos Jr. and Vice President Sara Duterte, revealed at a press conference that her relationship with Molina, a supporter of then-vice president Leni Robredo and former senator Francis ‘Kiko’ Pangilinan, went through a rough patch during the election period.
Despite the tensions, Alvarez expressed happiness over their reunion for the film.
Very close kami.
I’m just so happy na nagkasama kami rito. It’s our reunion actually,” she said.
Despite the past tensions, Alvarez is thrilled to be working with Molina again. “It’s our first time noong look test, doon kami nagkita.” She acknowledged the uncertainty about their dynamic after not speaking or seeing each other for a long time but is relieved and happy that the difficult phase is behind them.
But it is a happy reunion. I’m just so glad na tapos na ‘yung phase na ‘yun sa buhay namin and sana gan’un din ang iba,” she added.
Director Darryl Yap also mentioned during the media conference that he had a “gap” with Molina but has since mended their friendship.
‘Seoulmeyt,’ written and directed by Yap, stars Molina, Alvarez, Jerald Napoles, and Candy Pangilinan. The film marks a significant reunion for Alvarez and Molina, who are excited to be working together again despite past political tensions.
