Singer-songwriter Ice Seguerra recently opened up about his reservations regarding the possibility of making a guest appearance on the popular noontime show ‘It’s Showtime.’
During a segment of the latest episode of ‘Showbiz Updates’ on Wednesday, May 8, showbiz insider Ogie Diaz asked Seguerra about the likelihood of seeing him as a guest on the show.
To this, Seguerra candidly replied that he wouldn’t feel comfortable appearing on ‘It’s Showtime,’ citing personal reasons.
“I wouldn’t be comfortable, e,” Ice admitted. “I mean, wala naman silang alitan or anything. Ako lang talaga siguro. Hindi ako magiging komportable.”
Despite clarifications from Diaz regarding respect for the original hosts and his previous ties to rival program ‘Eat Bulaga,’ where Seguerra began his career, the singer-songwriter maintained his stance.
Seguerra emphasized that while there are no issues or conflicts with the show or its hosts, he personally doesn’t see himself as a fit for a guest appearance on ‘It’s Showtime.’ He expressed that he feels no obligation to make such a guest appearance or to extend farewells to the original hosts of the competing noontime show.
However, Seguerra made it clear that he maintains friendly relations with the hosts of ‘It’s Showtime,’ noting a past collaboration with one of its mainstays, Vice Ganda.
The discussion comes amidst ongoing speculation about potential guest appearances and crossover collaborations between artists from different networks. It is notable that Seguerra’s sentiments echo recent remarks from one of the original hosts of ‘Eat Bulaga,’ Joey De Leon, who clarified that there is no animosity towards ‘It’s Showtime.’
