Singer-actress Gigi de Lana has made a heartfelt appeal to the public, seeking prayers for her mother who is currently hospitalized and fighting for her life against Stage 4 breast cancer.

In a deeply emotional video shared on Gigi de Lana’s official Facebook page on Wednesday, May 8, the singer paused during one of her performances to share the dire situation concerning her mother’s health and to express her sincere plea for her recovery.
“My mom is at the ICU now. If you have seen my Instagram stories, meron doon prayer. If you want to pray for my mom, you can pray for her if you want. She’s fighting for her life now, and I don’t know if pag-uwi ko nandoon pa siya. But I really wish she would be there. I really want to hug her and kiss her,” she said, her voice trembling with emotion.
The 28-year-old singer emphasized her profound regret for not spending more quality time with her mother and urged everyone to cherish their family, particularly their parents, while they still have the chance.
“Because, you know, hindi niyo alam kung kailan mawawala ‘yung taong mahalaga sayo, so spend the time sa kanila and love with all your heart. There’s nothing wrong with it. Just love para hindi ka rin mag-regret,” de Lana urged, her eyes filled with tears.
“Because now, I am regretting things that I didn’t do with my mom. I love her so much. And please love your family kasi sila lang ‘yung nandiyan para sainyo. Trust me, they love you with all their heart. Mahal na mahal kayo ng parents niyo,” she added, her emotions palpable.
De Lana had previously shared her mother’s health struggles in February 2023, revealing that she had cut her hair short at the time as a gesture of solidarity with her mother, who was undergoing chemotherapy and experiencing hair loss as a side effect.
“I decided to cut my hair; sinabi ko na lang new look. The main reason was my mom. She is doing chemo. Ang gusto ko masabayan ko siya sa journey niya. I didn’t tell my mom the reason I cut my hair short. Siya kalbo na,” she disclosed during that period.
Gigi de Lana rose to fame following her participation in ‘Tawag ng Tanghalan’ on ‘It’s Showtime.’ She gained further recognition for her viral cover songs on various social media platforms. Additionally, she made her silver screen debut in the 2020 film ‘Four Sisters Before the Wedding.’
