In the wake of the recent court ruling by the Taguig Regional Trial Court on May 2, former model Deniece Cornejo has taken to social media to express her reaction, posting Bible verses that seemed to reflect her sentiments.
On her Facebook account, Cornejo shared an art card featuring a passage from Exodus 14:14: “The Lord will fight for you. You need only to be still.”
Additionally, she posted a picture on her Instagram story containing words reminiscent of a letter addressed to herself.
“Dear Deniece, you have fought the good fight with faith. Not everyone knows what you are going through behind closed doors, but you face it with courage and love. You will rise like an eagle in God’s perfect time,” read the message.
Cornejo also shared another Bible verse from Matthew 10:28: “Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather, be afraid of the One who can destroy both soul and body in hell.”
The court’s ruling convicted Cornejo, along with businessman Cedric Lee and two others, of serious illegal detention for ransom in a case filed by actor-television host Vhong Navarro.
Despite the verdict, they retain the option to file an appeal against the court’s decision.
