Director Darryl Yap has openly criticized the Filipino Academy of Movie Arts and Sciences (FAMAS), stating he has more faith in Santa Claus than in the award-giving body.
“Pasensya na sa mga mahal ko at nirerespeto sa industriya — pero mas naniniwala pa ako kay Santa Claus kesa sa FAMA$,” Yap remarked.
This statement follows the controversy involving FAMAS allegedly snubbing veteran actress Eva Darren.
Yap also shared screenshots of a conversation with a FAMAS representative from April 2023, where he declined an invitation from the organization.
“Hindi ko kayang puntahan ang hindi ko pinaniniwalaan,” he captioned the post.
Currently, Yap’s film ‘Seoulmeyt,’ featuring Jerald Napoles and Kim Molina, is showing in theaters.
