Darren Espanto has been in the spotlight recently following his appearances on Vice Ganda’s vlog and Luis Manzano’s ‘Luis Listens’. These guest spots are part of the promotional activities for his upcoming 10th-anniversary concert, ‘D10,’ scheduled for June 1, 2024, at the Araneta Coliseum.
In his conversation with Luis Manzano on ‘Luis Listens,’ Darren reminisced about his time on the first season of ‘The Voice Kids’ in 2014, where Luis was the host. The interview also touched on his relationship with Cassy Legaspi. Darren shared that after his ‘TV Patrol’ interview, where he mentioned that he and Cassy were just friends, Cassy and her mother, Carmina Villarroel, posted cryptic messages on Instagram.
Darren explained that he immediately reached out to Cassy to clarify any misunderstandings. “Cassy and I talked about it. I really messaged her like, ‘Hey! is there anything wrong? Are you mad at me? Please let me know,’ kasi ganun naman po kami simula’t sapul. Wala naman kaming tinatago sa isa’t isa. We’re already comfortable with each other and we don’t like to take it the long way, the long route. We just tell each other directly,” Darren said.
During Vice Ganda’s vlog, Darren experienced riding a jeepney in Quezon City and participated in a ‘JEEPpool Karaoke’ session. While riding the jeepney, Vice Ganda asked Darren about his past relationships. Darren admitted that while his relationships lacked official labels, there were still expressions of love.
“Wala siyang label,” he answered.
He revealed that the most extravagant gift he had given was a ring, while the last grand gift he received from his girlfriend was a ticket to Bruno Mars’ Manila concert.
Darren confirmed that he had a girlfriend last year, and they attended the Bruno Mars concert together. However, he clarified that they are no longer together but remain on good terms.
Fans are eagerly anticipating Darren’s upcoming ‘D10’ concert, especially his performance with Vice Ganda, which promises to be a highlight of the event.
