Showbiz columnist Cristy Fermin has issued a resolute response to the legal charges brought against her by actress Bea Alonzo.
On May 2, 2024, Alonzo filed three separate complaints against Fermin and talent manager Ogie Diaz at the Quezon City Prosecutor’s Office. Alonzo accuses Fermin and Diaz of disseminating false information about her through their online shows and newspaper columns, including allegations related to her tax compliance.
Addressing the allegations on her online program, ‘Cristy Ferminute,’ Fermin firmly asserted that navigating legal challenges is an inherent aspect of their profession. She refuted claims that their content is singularly focused on Alonzo for the sake of garnering viewership and revenue.
Fermin underscored her previous support for Alonzo during past controversies and expressed her reluctance to settle the matter outside of legal proceedings.
Wala kayong maaring ligtasan. Kaya public figures kayo, huwag masyadong balat-sibuyas,” Fermin emphasized.
Concluding her response with unwavering determination, Fermin affirmed her readiness to address the allegations in court, along with Diaz.
