Veteran host Boy Abunda recently disclosed that he includes his dear friend Kris Aquino and her two sons in his daily prayers.
This revelation came during an intimate press conference for his forthcoming GMA Network limited docu-series, ‘My Mother, My Story,’ scheduled to debut on Sunday, May 12.
In the discussion, Boy Abunda shared insights into his continued communication with Kris and her son Bimby, following their previous interview on ‘Fast Talk With Boy Abunda’ several months ago.
Despite the need for caution, especially after Kris mentioned a period of isolation, Boy Abunda expressed his ongoing support by sending occasional messages to Bimby and Kris’s assistant, Alvin.
“But I really every night, I pray for her. I pray for her health. I pray for Kris,” stated Boy Abunda.
When questioned about Kris’s eldest son, Joshua, who is currently in the Philippines, Boy Abunda admitted he was not fully updated, relying instead on occasional greetings from Bimby on special occasions.
Aside from his daily talk show ‘Fast Talk with Boy Abunda,’ viewers can anticipate Boy Abunda’s appearance on ‘My Mother, My Story’ every second Sunday of the month from May to October 2024.
In the inaugural episode, Boy Abunda will feature Luis Manzano alongside his mother, Star for All Seasons Vilma Santos. The show aims to delve into emotional conversations with celebrities about their relationships with their mothers and how maternal influences have shaped their lives.
Reflecting on the program’s significance, Boy Abunda shared his personal connection, expressing how much he misses his late mother, Nanay Lesing, who passed away in 2019 at the age of 90. He credited his mother for instilling confidence in him and recalled her words of encouragement before his performances in amateur contests.
“This is about us and our mothers. Makaka-relate tayo dahil lahat tayo ay anak. Proud kami sa proyektong ito. I had this concept a long time ago and we’re putting this together para sa inyong lahat,” Boy Abunda emphasized, underscoring the importance of honoring maternal bonds and the impact of maternal love on personal growth.
