Comedian Boobay made headlines after a mishap during his hosting stint at a town fiesta in Aparri, Cagayan, on Tuesday, May 7.
In a livestream of the event on Vice Mayor Rene Chan’s Facebook page, the comedian was performing alongside fellow comedian Pepita Curtis when the incident unfolded.
Amid their performance, Boobay abruptly halted, and the camera shifted focus to Pepita. Moments later, Boobay stumbled and fell on stage, prompting immediate assistance from Pepita and event staff.

Following the stumble, the livestream briefly went on a commercial break, with Pepita explaining, “Naano lang po siya, na-out of balance.”
However, Boobay quickly recovered and returned to the stage to resume his performance alongside Pepita.

According to Sparkle president Joy Marcelo, Boobay’s stumble was attributed to being momentarily blinded by the intense stage lights.
On X (formerly Twitter), Boobay’s co-host Pepita reassured concerned viewers that Boobay was in good spirits and resting at the hotel after the incident.
“Sa mga taga Aparri, maraming salamat po!!! OK na po si Boobay nagpapahinga na po dito sa hotel. Maraming salamat po!!! God bless po!!! 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻” Pepita wrote.

Boobay’s stumble brought back memories of a health scare he faced last April when he became unresponsive during an interview on ‘Fast Talk With Boy Abunda.’
During the same interview, Boobay revealed that he still experiences lingering effects from a stroke he suffered in 2016. Despite the setback, he recovered two months later and resumed his work.
Boobay’s dedication to his craft remains unwavering, although his doctor advised him to take occasional breaks to prioritize his health.
