Barbie Forteza, recently honored as the Primetime Drama Actress of the Year at the Box Office Entertainment Awards 2024, has shown interest in hosting the popular noontime show ‘It’s Showtime.’
The prestigious awards night took place on Sunday, May 12, at the Henry Lee Irwin Theater in Ateneo de Manila University, Quezon City.
Forteza earned the award for her outstanding performance as Klay in the hit teleserye ‘Maria Clara at Ibarra.’ Despite the show’s conclusion over a year ago, it continues to receive accolades, much to Barbie’s delight.
Barbie recently made a guest appearance as a co-host on ‘It’s Showtime’ on Saturday, May 11. Her debut was well-received by the Madlang People, the dedicated viewers of the Kapamilya noontime show, who enjoyed seeing her in this new role.
Her energetic performance during her guest stint quickly made her a favorite among viewers. When asked about the possibility of returning as a host, Barbie expressed her excitement.
“Nakakatuwa kasi actually after nung guesting ko yesterday ay tinanong nila ako agad kung kailan ang next free day ko,” Barbie said. “Talagang gusto nila akong bumalik. So, sobrang nakakataba ng puso kasi sa totoo lang fan talaga ako ng show so para magustuhan din nila ako ay sobrang nakaka-overwhelm.”
Currently, Barbie is busy with the taping of her upcoming teleserye ‘Pulang Araw,’ but she promised that she would make time for ‘It’s Showtime’ whenever her schedule allows.
