Singer-songwriter JC Regino, son of the late OPM icon April Boy Regino, confirmed on April 26 that a movie chronicling his father’s life is finally moving forward.
During his virtual media conference for his latest single ‘Wala Na,’ JC recalled that the movie was already in the works before his father’s passing. April Boy Regino sadly passed away on November 29, 2020, due to chronic kidney disease and acute respiratory failure.
Recently, they received a call confirming that the movie will continue, with the search for the film’s star already underway.
JC expressed his interest in portraying his father in the movie, but due to his appearance, he couldn’t. However, despite not being given the role, the singer understands that it’s for the best.
Given the opportunity, he would love to be part of his father’s movie.
Meanwhile, his latest single ‘Wala Na’ has reached the 8th spot on iTunes. It marks his first heartbreak song, inspired by a friend’s heartbreaking love story.
‘Wala Na’ is available on all music platforms nationwide.
