Her comment referred to a preliminary survey conducted by Senate President Pro Tempore Jinggoy Estrada.
The survey revealed a split among the senators, with five against and five in favor of the Divorce Bill. Opponents included Sen. Estrada, Senate President Francis Escudero, Sen. Joel Villanueva, Sen. Francis Tolentino, and Sen. Ronald ‘Bato’ dela Rosa. Those supporting the bill were Sen. Robin Padilla, Sen. Imee Marcos, Sen. Grace Poe, Sen. Pia Cayetano, and Sen. Risa Hontiveros.
In a recent update, Sen. Juan Miguel Zubiri and Sen. Cynthia Villar also declared their opposition to the bill.
