Amid swirling rumors linking her to the breakup of Bea Alonzo and Dominic Roque, Angeli Khang has vehemently denied any involvement, dismissing the speculations as false.
The controversy erupted during the height of the Bea-Dom breakup saga, with claims surfacing that Dominic’s viewing of movies featuring Angeli on Vivamax played a role in the couple’s split.
However, many skeptics doubted the veracity of these claims, questioning whether movie preferences could truly be the cause of such a significant relationship fallout.
Further complicating matters, prominent gossip personality Xian Gaza also weighed in, insinuating Angeli’s involvement in the Bea-Dom breakup, an assertion Angeli promptly refuted.
Addressing the issue head-on, Angeli took to ‘Updated With Nelson Canlas’ to set the record straight, categorically denying any part in the former couple’s split.
“Fake news po, fake news siya,” the 22-year-old actress, currently starring in the Kapuso series ‘Black Rider’ alongside Ruru Madrid, emphasized.
Angeli clarified that she has no personal relationship with either Bea or Dominic and has never collaborated with them professionally.
She also revealed the personal toll the rumors had taken on her, noting the backlash from Bea’s fans who directed their anger towards her.
“Tingin sa akin ng mga tao kapag lumalabas ako na taray na taray talaga sa akin, parang ako talaga yung reason ng breakup nila. Gusto kong mag-explain sa kanila, wait hindi po, hindi po kami magkakilala,” Angeli lamented.
Acknowledging the impact of the situation on her, Angeli admitted to refraining from public appearances for a week, opting to keep a low profile amid the controversy.
The breakup between Bea and Dominic was officially confirmed in a joint statement released in February, wherein the couple announced the cancellation of their impending wedding.
