Contestants Angel Guardian and Kokoy de Santos named Buboy Villar as their biggest competitor in the second season of ‘Running Man Philippines,’ turning the friendly rivalry into a key highlight of the show.
De Santos views Buboy Villar as his toughest competition in the second season of Running Man Philippines. The actor praised the comedian for his balance of a relaxed yet competitive demeanor, noting their intense but friendly clashes since the previous season.
“Kami ni Buboy, kapag nag-aabot kami, parang, ‘Ano ba ‘yan!’ Gusto namin chill lang. Pero kapag nag-abot kami, parang, ‘Hindi eh. Minsan lang ito mangyari. Bigay natin ‘to.’ Pero kalmado. Pero bigay ‘yung kung ano ang deserve ng mga manonood,” he said.
Guardian, last year’s winner, agreed with de Santos. Having faced Villar multiple times this season, she regards him as a significant challenge.
“Ngayon lang kami nagkaharap eh. Ngayon lang kami nagkakasalubong this season. Pero na-enjoy ko ‘yun. Kasi hindi kami nagkakasalubong dati, and this season, ilang beses kaming nagtapat. So feeling ko si Buboy,” she said.
Villar, amused by his competitors’ views, embraced his role as a formidable yet entertaining runner, especially with Ruru Madrid no longer in the competition. He humorously suggested a new nickname, “Funshot,” reflecting his comedic persona.
Despite the competition, Villar emphasized that their main goal is to entertain the audience.
“Sabi ni Boss G, halos lahat kasi talaga masaya eh.
The runners enjoyed their time in South Korea, braving the winter to complete their challenges. Villar shared his strategy for staying healthy:
”Siyempre, vitamins and prayers. The most important. Prayers, then take the vitamins. So vitamins talaga.”
Watch them compete to become the ultimate runner on ‘Running Man Philippines,’ every weekend on GMA Network.
