Television personality Willie Revillame is poised to make a triumphant return to the television landscape, this time with an all-new program on TV5, as disclosed by entertainment insider Cristy Fermin.
In an episode of ‘Showbiz Now Na,’ Fermin divulged that Revillame is scheduled to finalize a contract with TV5 in the upcoming week following the observance of the Holy Week.
“Pinalipas lamang po nila ang ating pag-obserba sa Mahal na Araw at sa linggong papasok na ito, pirmahan na ng kontrata,” Fermin announced during the show.
Furthermore, Fermin shared that the forthcoming program, a collaborative effort between MediaQuest and Revillame’s production team, is currently in the process of ironing out its title and designated time slot.
“Co-production ito ng MediaQuest at ng produksiyon ni Willie Revillame. Iyong titulo pinag-uusapan pa ngayon at saka ‘yung time slot. Iyon na lang ang nakabitin,” Fermin elaborated.
Initial reports suggested that Revillame’s new show would be paired in a back-to-back lineup with ‘Eat Bulaga,’ a long-standing noontime variety program hosted by Tito Sotto, Vic Sotto, and Joey de Leon.
However, Fermin recently made waves when she expressed her reservations about endorsing Revillame’s potential bid for a senatorial seat in the 2025 elections.
“Public servant ka. Ikaw ang dapat na gumawa ng paraan para magserbisyo-publiko ka. Nakakatakot lang ito,” Fermin remarked, indicating that Revillame would not garner her support if he decides to pursue a senatorial candidacy.
Speculation surrounding the revival of ‘Wowowin’ has been rife since July 2023, when Revillame teased the show’s return through the release of the song ‘Babalik Ako.’ Initially anticipated to air on PTV within the same month, and later speculated for the final quarter of the previous year, the revival of the beloved game show has been eagerly awaited by Revillame’s legion of fans.
