During a recent interview at Cafe Ilang-Ilang on April 4, actor Tom Rodriguez shared his perspective on knowing when to let go in a relationship, emphasizing that it ultimately depends on the individual’s limit.
According to Rodriguez, determining when to give up on love is a personal journey, varying from person to person.
“It’s definitely different for different people,” he stated.
He added that they would know the answer only when they find themselves in that situation.
“But I think when you are in that situation and you are pushed to the limit na lumaban ka, nang sagad na talaga, I think you would know. Kanya-kanyang tao ‘yun.”
When asked about the biggest lesson he learned about love, Rodriguez responded with a humorous touch, indicating a reluctance to delve deeper into the topic.
“The biggest thing you learned about love, you learned din na…ayoko na lang sabihin, hahaha!” he remarked.
The actor spent seven years with his now-estranged wife, Carla Abellana. In an interview with Boy Abunda in 2023, the actress revealed that the reason for their split was that she had had enough.
As for his biggest lesson on love, the actor stressed that a relationship is a two-way street.
“It is definitely a two-way street ang love. Hindi lang dapat ikaw o ‘yung isa ang lumalaban.”
Rodriguez was in Cafe Ilang-Ilang for his upcoming movie ‘Huwag Mo ‘Kong Iwan,’ which is under the direction of Joel Lamangan. The film also includes Rhian Ramos and JC de Vera.
