Kapuso actor Tom Rodriguez admitted that while it was nerve-wracking, he is committed to staying for good as he makes his comeback to acting in the upcoming movie ‘Huwag Mo ‘Kong Iwan.’
The film directed by esteemed filmmaker, Joel C. Lamangan, and produced by BenTria Productions revealed Rodriguez and other cast members on April 4 at the Cafe Ilang-Ilang at the Manila Hotel Atrium.
He admitted feeling nervous during his first appearance in an episode of ‘Magpakailanman’ last March 16, and he feels the same way when making a film.
“Honestly, hindi mawawala ‘yung kaba same sa noong sumalang ako sa Magpakailanman, may kaba din ulit,” Rodriguez expressed.
Despite being anxious about how he will perform, the actor is ‘willing to throw’ himself and trust everyone on set.
“I trust everyone that I’m with and I’m just willing to throw myself into that work and ride that wave, haha.”
When asked if he plans to stay for good, the actor smiled and replied, “Yeah.”
Rodriguez took a two-year hiatus and lived in Arizona after experiencing a falling out with his wife Carla Abellana. With his return, the actor immediately accepted the offer from Direk Joel to star in his film, stating that it was a “no-brainer” since they have already worked in the past.
“I was so excited when he asked Popoy na kung p’wede ako sa film na ito. ‘Significant Other’ was an honor for me to work on, and it was one of my favorite movies na ginampanan, kaya it was a no-brainer. Especially when I read the script, ang ganda ng kuwento,” he said.
“Huwag Mo ‘Kong Iwan” is an upcoming movie, starring Rodriguez, JC de Vera, and Rhian Ramos.
