During the Holy Week break, Kapamilya movies aired on GMA Network soared to the top of the ratings chart for overall programming.
According to the latest Nielsen NUTAM People survey ratings, Star Cinema movies such as ‘Tanging Yaman’ and ‘Seven Sundays’ dominated the Holy Week ratings leaderboard.
On Good Friday, March 29, ‘Tanging Yaman’ claimed the top spot with a commanding 16.1 percent rating. It was closely followed by the foreign film ‘Son of God,’ securing second place with a rating of 12.7 percent.
Securing third place was the news program ’24 Oras,’ maintaining a rating of 12.1 percent, while the comedic adventure film ‘Jumanji’ took fourth place with a rating of 9.8 percent. Rounding up the top five was ‘The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug,’ which garnered a rating of 9.6 percent.
On Black Saturday, March 30, another Star Cinema masterpiece, ‘Seven Sundays,’ ascended to the top of the ratings chart with an impressive 14.5 percent rating. ’24 Oras’ followed closely behind, claiming the second spot with an 11.1 percent rating.
In third place was the timeless classic ‘Forrest Gump,’ starring Tom Hanks, which earned a respectable 9.7 percent rating. ‘The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies’ secured the fourth spot with an 8.4 percent rating. Rounding off the top five for Saturday was the Marvel superhero film ‘Superman Returns,’ which garnered a rating of 7.9 percent.
