President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. on Tuesday led the ceremonial turnover of National Housing Authority (NHA)- Balanga low-rise housing project to 216 families situated beside the Talisay River which is a danger area in Balanga City, Bataan.
The President said the said housing project is part of the government’s continuous efforts to provide proper homes for Filipinos.
In his speech, President Marcos acknowledged the danger faced by the beneficiaries for years of living alongside the Talisay River.
He assured everyone that the government will address their struggles.
“Sa loob ng maraming taon, humarap sila sa peligrong dala ng pagtira sa tabi ng ilog. Kaya narito tayo upang bigyan ng lunas ang kanilang suliranin. Sila ay maninirahan na sa sariling bahay na ligtas, dekalidad, at komportable,” the President said. “Ngayon pa lamang po ay binabati ko na ang ating mga benepisyaryo ng “congratulations” sa pagsisimula ng panibagong yugto ng inyong buhay!” he added.
President Marcos reminded the beneficiaries to preserve and maintain their new homes as they will serve as the foundation of their aspirations and better future. The new homes will also enrich their community for them to flourish and live a comfortable life together, he added.
The President assured the beneficiaries of the government’s guidance at all times, especially the local and provincial government of Bataan.
“Makakaasa rin ang sambayanang Pilipino na sa ilalim ng Pambansang Pabahay Para sa Pilipino Housing Program o 4PH program, patuloy ang pagpupursige ng pamahalaan upang mabigyan ng maayos na tahanan ang ating mga kababayan,” President Marcos said.
He expressed confidence on the leadership of Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD) Secretary Jerry Acuzar and National Housing Authority Manager Joeben Tai.
President Marcos said the low-rise buildings were built using new technology ensuring a durable and stable home for every family.
The housing project is composed of six three-story condominium-type buildings with 12 27-sqm. units per floor each equipped with two bedrooms, a kitchen, bathroom, waterline and electricity.
The housing program also comes prepared with public facilities such as the four-story school building with 20 classrooms, multipurpose building, and a covered basketball court.
And to ensure the convenience of availing various services, a Community Center was built in the housing program where a health center, daycare center and barangay learning hub, office of the Homeowner’s Association, and satellite offices of local government are located.
