Speculations regarding the potential end of the beloved sitcom ‘Pepito Manaloto,’ featuring Michael V. and Manilyn Reynes, circulated among fans of the show aired on GMA Network.
Concerns arose after Bitoy, as Michael V. is known, posted a photo of a “group hug” involving the cast members on his Instagram account, leading viewers to speculate about the series’ conclusion.
During an interview with ’24 Oras Weekend’ last Saturday, Michael V. directly addressed the rumors, assuring loyal viewers that ‘Pepito Manaloto’ will not be ending.
“Diretsahang sagot. Hindi,” the Kapuso TV host-comedian stated plainly, providing clarity amidst the circulating rumors.
He further explained that the shared photo symbolized a gesture of camaraderie and appreciation among the cast, rather than signaling the end of the show.
“‘Yung photo naman na ‘yon na lumabas, ‘yung group hug na ‘yon, actually ‘yung photo na ‘yun is ang nire-represent nu’n is ‘yung group hug namin, parang remembrance, appreciation.”
This reassurance from Michael V. brings relief to fans who have been following the show for its impressive 14-year run on GMA.
Bitoy expressed gratitude for the enduring support, emphasizing the significance of the ‘Pepito Manaloto’ family, which extends beyond the screen to include the cast, crew, network, and most importantly, the beloved audience.
Manilyn Reynes, who plays Elsa, Pepito’s supportive wife in the sitcom, echoed these sentiments, highlighting the show’s enduring impact and expressing gratitude to viewers for their unwavering support.
In addition to dispelling rumors, Michael V. also announced preparations for the upcoming summer special of ‘Pepito Manaloto,’ which will be filmed in Nueva Ecija, hinting at exciting developments to come for the beloved series.
