Actor Paulo Avelino had no problems working with Kylie Verzosa on the upcoming Viva film ‘Elevator.’
Versoza is the ex-girlfriend of Avelino’s best friend, Jake Cuenca. The attending press at the press conference of the movie at Viva Cafe on April 5 raised the concern that there was an awkward vibe between them, which the actor denied.
“Okay naman po. Parang…well prior to… hindi naman po naging sobrang awkward,” he said.
He added that the awkwardness was immediately subdued through their preparations for the project.
“Kasi prior to shooting the film, marami po kaming script readings, workshops. So inayos namin ang characters namin.”
Verzosa confirmed that they were comfortable with each other and considers them friends.
“No, wala kaming ilangan. Because, well to me, I think we are friends. We were friends before and we have been friends for a couple of years, and that makes it easier to work as characters and as actors,” pointed out the beauty queen-turned-artist.
Without a hint of awkwardness between them, the actor shared his discovery working with the young artist. As a beauty queen, it was apparent that Versoza would turn heads.
“Ang na-discover ko kay Kylie, ano talaga siya, head turner,” described Avelino.
He jokingly mentioned that he tends to distance himself from his leading lady to avoid getting into trouble.
“Minsan nahihiya na akong tumabi sa kanya kasi lahat ng lalaki sa kanya nakatingin. Baka mapaaway pa ako.”
Meanwhile, Versoza discovered that her leading man was truly one of the best actors in the Philippines. She also experienced how caring he was during scenes.
“I really respect him as an actor, and he is one of the best actors out here. Very maalaga siya sa scene, and we worked together well.”
Their upcoming movie, ‘Elevator,’ will be in cinemas on April 24.
