We thank especially our heroic OFWs who follow us online and who donate their hard-earned funds to our kababayans in need, as featured regularly in our stories. Mabuhay po kayo at maraming, maraming salamat!” she adds.
Changing lives, one story at a time
Over the years, KMJS has been consistently producing stories that inspire and make lasting marks on the lives, not only of Filipinos, but the rest of the world. Beyond storytelling, the public affairs program has been actively extending help to those who are in need.
One of the stories that recently made an impact on Kapuso viewers was that of a 5-year-old boy from Dinas, Zamboanga del Sur, who was suffering from an unnaturally swollen stomach and was later diagnosed with an intestinal problem. After the feature in KMJS, he was admitted to the hospital and underwent a major operation, which improved his current condition a lot.
Last week, KMJS featured the inspiring story of Medy, an elementary teacher in Juban, Sorsogon. Despite the danger it entails, Medy crosses the deep Sorsogon Bay every day via boat to teach her students on the isolated Sablayan Island.
Likewise, KMJS’ recent investigative story about the mining in Homonhon Island generated discussions online as Jessica flew to Guiuan, Eastern Samar to personally investigate the issue.
With its remarkable stories that inspire, it is no surprise that KMJS continues to be recognized by different award-giving organizations. It has already won three awards this year.
At the 6th Gawad Lasallianeta Awards last January, KMJS was hailed as the Most Outstanding Magazine Show, while program host Jessica Soho was named as the Most Outstanding Magazine Show Host.
Furthermore, the show was recognized as Best Magazine Program in the 2024 Platinum Stallion National Media Awards last February.
KMJS also won the Best Public Affairs Program award, with Jessica Soho earning the Best Female News Personality award in the 1st Perpetualites Choice Awards last March.
This November, the Filipinos’ Sunday viewing habit will celebrate its 20th anniversary with a mission to continuously inspire and touch the lives of viewers all around the world.
