The Kapamilya noontime show’s April 6 debut, on GMA Network’s main channel, threatens to crush the tight competition between the two lording noontime shows.
With GTV and A2Z alone, It’s Showtime, has been able to beat noontime mammoth, EAT Bulaga, in the ratings battle. The Kapamilya show has in fact emerged the number one noontime show, 19 times already, since it made its historic debut on GMA Network’s other free-to-air channel, GTV, on July 1, 2023.
Now, with It’s Showtime, airing for the first time on the Kapuso Network’s main channel (DZBB-TV Channel 7), which once made EAT Bulaga an indomitable force in noontime competition through its nationwidest reach, the Vice Ganda-led noontime show is set to harness the combined power of GTV, A2Z, and GMA Network, in ensuring It’s Showtime, will emerge as the overall and runaway winner of the two-way battle happening this April 6.
It is worth-noting that It’s Showtime, has already been decimating EAT Bulaga , in the concurrent viewership game online, an entirely different arena to which rivalries in the local entertainment scene have been leaning forward.
Not to undermine the power of the living icons, TVJ, who made EAT Bulaga’s debut on TV5 soar with an 8.4 people rating, despite the Kapatid Network’s weaker reach, but ABS-CBN and GMA Network working together for the same show, is a completely different level of noontime badassery, and TVJ and TV5 for this matter, have all the reasons to worry. Judging their move to pit their much-publicized National Barangay Day against It’s Showtime’s GMA debut, it seems this historic turn is indeed making the Kapatid bosses, worry.
Afterall, ABS-CBN has proven many times, that what previously-thought impossible, can be definitely attained, by the power of sheer wit, and of course, collaboration.
