Last week, the Kapamilya noontime show ‘It’s Showtime’ made headlines as it began its groundbreaking simulcast on GMA Network. But how did its inaugural week on the Kapuso channel fare in TV ratings?
According to the latest Nielsen NUTAM People ratings, ‘It’s Showtime’ saw an uptick in ratings during its first week on GMA Network, though it experienced a downward trajectory as the week progressed.
On Saturday, April 6, the show achieved a notable rating of 9.7 percent, marking its highest since the onset of the pandemic and the ABS-CBN shutdown.
However, the following Monday, April 8, saw a significant dip, with ratings dropping to 8.3 percent, a decrease of 1.4 percent. Nonetheless, it maintained its lead in the noontime slot against its rival ‘EAT…Bulaga,’ which secured a 4.3 percent rating.
Tuesday, April 9, witnessed a slight improvement for the Kapamilya program, as ratings edged up to 8.6 percent, still surpassing ‘EAT…Bulaga’ which garnered 4.3 percent.
The trend continued throughout the week with fluctuations: Wednesday, April 10, saw a decline to 8.3 percent, and Thursday, April 11, experienced a further drop to 8.1 percent, down by 0.2 percent from the previous day.
On Friday, April 12, ‘It’s Showtime’ faced another decrease, sliding by 0.8 percent to reach 7.3 percent in ratings.
With its debut on GMA Network, ‘It’s Showtime’ observed a notable decline of 2.4 percent from its initial 9.7 percent rating. The question now is: will this downward trend persist, or can ‘It’s Showtime’ stage a comeback and regain its lead against ‘EAT…Bulaga’?
