In a recent interview on the talk show ‘Fast Talk with Boy Abunda,’ ‘It’s Showtime’ host Darren Espanto opened up about his past romantic relationship with Kapuso actress Kyline Alcantara.
During the interview, Boy Abunda posed a direct question to Darren, asking if he and Kyline had ever been in a relationship, to which Darren responded cautiously, describing it as a “puppy love kind of thing.”
“Opo. Before when we were younger.”
However, he affirmed that they had indeed been together during their younger years, characterizing it as a formal puppy love relationship.
Darren clarified the context behind Kyline’s remarks during her appearance on the show, explaining that she was referring to their past romantic involvement. He disclosed that their relationship had lasted for one year and a half before ending due to typical misunderstandings experienced by young couples.
“There was some misunderstanding, and then when we were both mature, parang six years later napag-usapan na namin and eventually we became okay with each other again, naging friends ulit kami.”
Darren emphasized that no third party had been involved in their breakup and revealed that they had reconciled and become friends again after six years.
“Misunderstandings talaga kasi siyempre kapag mga bata parang konting mga petty na away.”
This revelation sheds light on the history between Darren and Kyline, who also have connections to the Legaspi Twins, Mavy and Cassy Legaspi. Darren is known to be friends with Cassy, while Mavy has previously linked with Kyline.
