ABS-CBN CEO Carlo Katigbak expressed gratitude on March 20 for ‘It’s Showtime’ being included in GMA Network’s noontime lineup.
Katigbak’s sentiments were echoed by his excitement felt throughout the event at the Seda Hotel Vertis North in Quezon City. Representatives from both networks witnessed this historic moment.
“First of all, grabe thank you so much for welcoming us into your home. Cory [Vidanes] really wanted us to come here today, to the GMA building, because we wanted to prove to you how special this partnership is to us.
“In our 30 years working in ABS, we have never walked through your doors. So thank you for this historic occasion. We have so much gratitude for you all today. Remember, we thanked you once for your kindness when you gave Showtime a home in GTV,” he expressed.
It’s Showtime was instrumental to TV ratings. It helped TV5 fare better when the show moved to its platform when the ABS-CBN shut down. Kapatid Network’s viewership increased when it began airing Kapamilya programs, according to the AGB Nielsen Nutam report.
Addressing Vice Ganda and the “It’s Showtime” family, Katigbak conveyed heartfelt appreciation for their unwavering loyalty and dedication. He encouraged them to “go the extra mile,” especially with their new partners at GMA Network expecting.
“To Vice and our family at Showtime, thank you for all you do for us, and for never giving up,” he thanked. “We’ve been given a very special opportunity to work with GMA. Let’s go the extra mile, guys. To prove to our partners that we deserve this chance and that we are worthy of the trust that they put in us.”
Meanwhile, Kapuso and Kapamilya viewers will be treated to a very special episode. Katigbak invited viewers for a special episode once the show airs on the Kapuso Network.
“Alam kong nagbago na talaga ang mundo kasi sinabi ni Cory sa show live, ‘What’s up Madlang Kapuso!’ So to our all Kapuso and Kapamilya viewers, abangan niyo po ang Showtime sa GMA 7 and GTV on April 6.
“We promise to make that episode a very very special one for you.” invited Katigbak.
Scheduled to air from Monday to Saturday, 12 noon to 2:30 pm, “It’s Showtime” on GMA Network promises to captivate audiences with its signature blend of entertainment and excitement.
