Senator Ramon “Bong” Revilla Jr. encountered an injury while filming scenes for his upcoming movie ‘Alyas Pogi.’
In a Facebook live session on Tuesday evening, April 16, Revilla announced that he would undergo surgery to repair a torn Achilles tendon sustained during filming.
The actor-politician attributed the injury to running too fast during a shoot.
“Hello, good evening. Guess where I am right now? I’m at the hospital. It’s a bit sad news but I am okay. Had an injury, my achilles tendon had a partial tear that’s why I need to undergo an operation. We will know by tomorrow, so please pray for me,” Revilla shared.
“First day ko ng ‘Alyas Pogi’ yesterday kasama ko pa si Ara Mina and Epy Quizon but you know may mga pangyayaring minsan hindi maiiwasan, mangyayari talaga ‘yon. Basta importante ipagdasal niyo na hindi po grabe. Pero na-MRI na po ako kanina at sinabi nga ng doktor na bale 50% ng aking achilles ay na-tear ‘yun po dahil sa pagtakbo, dahil sa sobrang bilis ko raw tumakbo,” he added.
The senator mentioned that the healing period after the operation would be three to five months.
Revilla was accompanied by his son Jolo at the hospital.
“Mag-a-undergo ng operation si Papa. Pero malalaman pa namin lahat ng updates by tomorrow sa doctors niya. Nagre-request lang kami ng prayers from you guys na maging successful ang operation niya. Ichi-check muna yung lahat ng bloodworks niya kung pwede na siyang operahan,” Jolo shared.
During the press conference for ‘Walang Matigas na Pulis sa Matinik na Misis Season 2’ on January 26, the actor and public servant recounted an incident that occurred during their filming before Christmas.
Almost suffering blindness, Revilla was hit by a bullet on his face while shooting a scene with Beauty, who portrays his wife on the show. They were struggling over a gun in the scene, with Revilla managing to take it from Beauty. However, the gun accidentally hit his face, causing a cut near his eye.
Revilla is commemorating his 50th anniversary in the entertainment industry.
