In a recent interview with Kim Chiu for their collab YouTube project, Barbie Forteza delved into various aspects of her career, shedding light on her preferences as an actress and her experiences with co-star David Licauco.
Forteza, known for her roles in Kapuso television dramas, opened up about her inclination towards television series over movies, citing her familiarity with the fast-paced shooting schedules of TV shows. In a surprising revelation, Forteza disclosed her initial aversion towards co-star David Licauco during their first encounter. She admitted to making Licauco feel unwelcome due to his tardiness on set, which led to some friction between them.
“I have. Wala akong ginawa pero pinaramdam ko sa kanya na hindi ko bet. Alam ni David iyon pero ngayong okay na kami. Nasa acceptance stage na ako. Kasi dati sa Mano Po (series nila sa GMA), late. So, ayun naging issue namin for a while,” she shared.
However, Forteza acknowledged Licauco’s efforts to improve his professionalism, leading to a positive shift in their working relationship.
“Tapos, no’ng finally in-accept ko na ‘yun about him, and in fairness naman din sa kaniya umeffort na siyang mapaaga ngayon, magin on time dahil sa akin. Inaadmit niya ‘yun,” Barbie added.
Kim Chiu commended Forteza for fostering a professional environment and teaching Licauco the importance of punctuality and professionalism. Forteza shared that their relationship has since evolved into a good friendship, both on and off-screen.
“Yes. Kaya ngayon we are very good friends na. Okay na kami ngayon,” she answered.
