The much-awaited return of television personality Willie Revillame to TV5 appears to be on the horizon, with a contract signing set to follow one last meeting this week at MediaQuest Holdings.
Reports circulating online indicate that Revillame’s new game show, slated to air alongside TV5’s long-running noontime program ‘Eat Bulaga,’ is nearing confirmation.
There are reports that discussions between the TV host-producer and the executives at MediaQuest Holdings, Inc. have progressed positively, hinting at an imminent collaboration announcement.
The recent meeting, attended by prominent figures such as MediaQuest President Jane Basas, TV5 President Guido Zaballero, and MediaQuest CFO John Andal, provided an optimistic atmosphere, indicating a warm reception for Revillame’s potential return.
While plans are underway for Revillame’s show to be broadcast back-to-back with ‘Eat Bulaga,’ logistical details such as the studio venue for filming are yet to be finalized.
Despite the excitement surrounding Revillame’s comeback, no formal contract signing took place during the meeting held last Friday. Instead, another meeting is scheduled for the coming week to iron out remaining details and potentially seal the deal.
As of now, neither TV5 nor Revillame’s camp has issued an official confirmation or announcement regarding the collaboration.
Revillame’s anticipated return to TV5 marks a significant milestone, considering his previous successful stints on the network with shows like ‘Willing Willie/Will Time Big Time’ and ‘Wowowillie.’
The potential return of Revillame’s iconic game show ‘Wowowin,’ which aired on GMA Network from 2015 to 2022, has been a subject of speculation since July 2023. The possibility was further fueled by Revillame’s teaser song ‘Babalik Ako,’ hinting at the show’s resurgence on PTV and later in the last quarter of the previous year. However, concrete details regarding its return remain undisclosed.
