Speculations are rife about the potential replacement for the discontinued noontime show ‘Tahanang Pinakamasaya,’ with TV host Willie Revillame emerging as a frontrunner for the coveted slot.
Reports suggest that GMA Network is eyeing Revillame as a possible successor to fill the void left by the cessation of the said program, which was produced by TAPE, Inc. Initially, considerations were reportedly being made between ‘It’s Showtime’ and ‘TiktoClock’ as potential substitutes for the show.
However, during a recent segment of ‘Showbiz Now Na’ on Thursday, March 7, discussions veered towards the likelihood of Revillame returning to GMA Network to assume the role vacated by ‘Tahanang Pinakamasaya.’
According to Romel Chika, co-host of showbiz columnist Cristy Fermin, Revillame’s comeback to the network is being considered.
Chika remarked, “Kung hindi man nagkasundo noon, malay mo nagkasundo kahapon. Posible. Dahil pare-pareho namang trabaho lang at nangangailangan din naman kung sino ang ipapalit doon. Baka naghahanap ang GMA.”
Contrary to this viewpoint, Wendell Alvarez expressed skepticism regarding Revillame’s potential return to the network, citing rumors of his senatorial aspirations as a complicating factor.
Alvarez remarked, “Kasi ‘di ba may plano siyang tumakbong senador, e, malapit na ang eleksyon. Ano ‘to ‘pag nilagay siya sa noontime show hanggang December na lang siya? […] Bawal na, e. 90 days ang campaign.”
Cristy Fermin concurred with Alvarez, referring to Revillame’s recent switch from his former show ‘Wowowin’ to the Villars’ ALL TV network.
“Dahil doon daw [sa ALL TV] isa siya sa mga tagapamuno samantalang talent lang siya sa GMA 7. Kung maglalagay man ang GMA 7 ng bagong programa, siguradong hindi si Willie Revillame ang kanilang kukuning magho-host,” Fermin explained.
Speculations about the discontinuation of ‘Tahanang Pinakamasaya’ began circulating on Saturday, March 2, when observers noted a decline in enthusiasm among the hosts during their final spiels. The news was later confirmed by Asia’s King of Talk Boy Abunda.
