There is speculation brewing in the entertainment industry suggesting that popular television host Willie Revillame might be gearing up for a return to GMA Network, nearly a year after parting ways with AllTV.
The buzz started circulating when the verified Facebook page of ‘Wowowin,’ Revillame’s show, shared a post from a DJ named Jon Dela Cruz. The post hinted at Revillame’s potential comeback to GMA Network for a noontime show, with a caption that playfully suggested hearing some news.
This news sparked various reactions among fans and followers. While some expressed excitement at the prospect of seeing Revillame back on GMA Network, others couldn’t forget his sudden departure from the network to transfer ‘Wowowin’ to AllTV.
Many have been eagerly awaiting Revillame’s return to television, especially after initial plans for a comeback last year through government stations PTV4 and IBC13 failed to materialize.
According to reports, Revillame’s departure from AllTV last year was driven by his desire not to become a financial burden on the network. He voluntarily requested termination of his contract, unwilling to receive his salary while not actively working, particularly when all programs on the ALLTV Network were put on hold for signal and reach adjustments.
If the rumors turn out to be true, this would signify Revillame’s reunion with GMA Network since his departure in 2022 to join the network owned by the Villar family. However, their partnership did not yield the expected success, as there was limited publicity and awareness of Revillame’s show on AllTV. Furthermore, its weak signal reach and low ratings led to minimal interest from advertisers.
