The Kapamilya noontime show moved to GMA Network’s sister free-to-air channel, GTV, July, last year.
The twists and turns on noontime continue to persist. In the wake of the untimely and abrupt cancellation of TAPE Inc’s Tahanang Pinakamasaya, speculations about which show will occupy the vacated noontime block of the Kapuso Network’s main channel, had netizens and loyal noontime viewers guessing. Will a currently-airing show take over, or will a newly-produced noontime show, debut on Kapuso daytime’s biggest ad revenue-generating block?
After some reports alluding to Willie Revillame’s Wowowin taking over the block is no longer pushing through, more reports about the Kapamilya noontime show, It’s Showtime, replacing Tahanang Pinakamasaya, surfaced. A recent report practically confirming It’s Showtime‘s move to GMA-7 from GTV made netizens go abuzz, and even had some important figures giving their personal sentiments. One of those was Philippine Senator Sonny Angara.
On X (Twitter), Angara acknowledged that the possibility of the report being true, was ‘unthinkable’ a few years back.

“Unthinkable, just a few years ago, ” he posted on X, as a response to a report made by a local newspaper. ABS-CBN notably departed from free-to-air television, after its franchise application got denied by the Philippine Congress in late 2020.
While this report and other similar ones are yet to be confirmed by official sources like ABS-CBN and GMA Network, one can look back at how It’s Showtime moving to GTV was also once ‘unthinkable’. But it happened.
And with the role of media collaborations only getting bigger and bigger, in the re-shaping of the local entertainment landscape, it seems such a speculation ultimately becoming a reality, will no longer be a big surprise.
Now, are loyal Kapamilya viewers ready to scream, “What’s up, Madlang Kapuso!!!”?
