- ‘Tahanang Pinakamasaya’ aired its last episode on March 8.
- ‘Lunchtime Movie Hits’ now occupies TAPE’s timeslot.
Beauty queen-turned-artist Rabiya Mateo expressed her hope that the variety show ‘Tiktoclock’ would have a longer airtime.
The 27-year-old host shared her thoughts during a quick interview after the Sparkle 10 launch at GMA Network’s Studio 7 on February 5. She admitted feeling disappointed that a show like Tiktoclock, which airs for only 45 minutes from Monday to Friday, often feels rushed.
“Minsan nalulungkot din kami kasi minsan may mga banter, marami pa sanang banatan pero overtime or minsan naka-cut kapag sa editing. So kung mabibigyan kami ng mas mahabang oras, mas marami pa po kaming saya na maipapakita,” she expressed.
To recall, there was a legal battle between TAPE’s noontime show ‘Tahanang Pinakamasaya’ and the trio Tito Sotto, Vic Sotto, and Joey de Leon (TVJ) over the ‘Eat Bulaga’ name. This situation threatened the Kapuso show, as it faced possible cancellation.
Mateo’s show is scheduled before Tahanang Pinakamasaya. With TVJ emerging victorious from the legal battle, the Kapuso noontime program may soon come to an end. However, GMA Network has not announced whether Tiktoclock will be extended. Nevertheless, Mateo hopes they will be given the opportunity to entertain viewers for a longer duration.
“However, if it’s going to be given to us, as a host, I’m gonna take it with pride and honor. Kasi alam ko po na ang goal namin sa Tiktoclock is to deliver a happy show. Authentic po ‘yun, gusto po naming magpasaya.”
In the meantime, Mateo was introduced as a member of Sparkle 10, a group of beautiful and talented women, as part of Sparkle’s newest initiative. She joins Angel Guardian, Ashley Ortega, Elle Villanueva, Faith Da Silva, Kate Valdez, Lexi Gonzales, Lianne Valentin, Liezel Lopez, and Shuvee Entrata.
