Alex Calleja and The Comedy Crew are more than ready to make our kababayans in Singapore and Dubai laugh out loud!
For the celebration of Dubai Comedy Festival, Alex, together with some members of his group, The Comedy Crew, Israel Buenaobra, Jeps Gallon, and Mak Navares, will give the first ever stand-up comedy show in Filipino in Dubai.
“Originally, English siya, pero marami kasing OFW na nanonood sa amin online na Tagalog ang piyesa namin, so gusto naming iparinig nang live, para na rin makatulong sa mga naho-homesick nating kababayan na nakaka-miss makarinig ng Tagalog,” says Alex.
(Originally, it’s in English, but many OFWs watch us online using pieces in Tagalog, so we want them to hear it live, and also, to help with the homesickness of our kababayans who miss hearing Tagalog)
Alex and The Comedy Crew are also the first full-blooded Pinoy comedians to perform at the enormous stage of Dubai Opera.
“Nakaka-pressure pero nakaka-proud kasi mare-represent natin ‘yong style ng comedy natin sa Dubai,” Alex added.

The comedy show at Dubai Opera is on April 13, 2024, Saturday. The good news is, tickets are still available on dubaicomedyfest.ae
Alex and The Comedy Crew, Israel Buenaobra, Jeps Gallon, Mak Navares, and Imah Dumagay, will also spread laughs and good vibes at Comedy Masala, Singapore on March 25 and 26 2024! Tickets were rapidly sold out!
Alex hopes that these overseas tours would open doors to Pinoy comedians, “sana mag-open siya ng doors sa mga Pinoy comedians, especially sa The Comedy Crew. Ang goal namin is to spread Pinoy comedy all over the world,” says Alex.
