The recent UNA Fashion Gala event by renowned designer Paul Cabral at The Laperal Mansion became an unexpected rendezvous for Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) chair Lala Sotto and television host Vice Ganda.
In a candid revelation, Sotto shared her surprise encounter with Vice Ganda during the high-profile affair held on February 27.
Despite not anticipating their meeting, Sotto recounted the moment she spotted Vice Ganda amidst the crowd at the event venue.
Speaking about their chance encounter, Sotto mentioned that while there was no formal introduction, she recognized Vice Ganda immediately. The serendipitous moment came as they found themselves face to face in the midst of the bustling event.
Reflecting on the interaction, Sotto described the encounter as pleasant, noting that they exchanged cheek kisses and shared a brief exchange of words.
“It was the fashion show of Paul Cabral, so nagkita kami doon. Nakakatuwa kasi nobody introduced us. I just, of course, knew na siya si Vice Ganda. Then, nagkataon lang kasi napakaraming tao, so nagkatapat kami. So hayan, nagkita kami, nagbeso kami… nakakatuwa. So happy, finally, nag-meet kami,” Sotto shared.
The unexpected meeting marked a significant moment for Sotto and Vice Ganda, given the previous tensions between the MTRCB and the ‘It’s Showtime’ program.

The past conflict arose in September 2023 when the show faced a temporary suspension for alleged violations and complaints. Among the contentious incidents was the widely-discussed “icing incident” involving Vice Ganda and his on-screen partner, Ion Perez, during a segment on the show.
