Former child star Jiro Manio leads in OPM band LILY’s ‘Magbalik’ music video but still needs full recovery before he accepts any acting projects.
On January 19, Manio, 31, appeared on ‘Fast Talk with Boy Abunda,’ where he admitted he misses acting. However, doctors have advised him not to accept any offers unless he has fully recovered, as this can lead to stress and eventually make him sick again.
He is still open to starring in other music videos, though. In addition to LILY’s MV, the former actor appeared in Pio Balbuena’s TOLUNGAN, released earlier on March 6.
It has been six years since his last acting stint. The 2004 Gawad Urian Best Actor was last seen in the 2010 GMA series Little Star and the film Ang Tanging Ina Mo (Last Na ‘To!).
In 2011, he entered rehab for drug abuse. Manio was released from the Bataan rehabilitation center in 2016 and has been sharing his life story as a volunteer rehab staff.
Watch Jiro Manio act again as LILY’s remake of the hit song ‘Magbalik’ music video will be released this month.
