Actor Jake Ejercito has opened up about not securing a role in the upcoming Filipino adaptation of the hit KDrama series ‘What’s Wrong With Secretary Kim?’ where there were rumors of him being cast alongside actress Kim Chiu.
In a recent vlog by talent manager Ogie Diaz, Jake addressed the speculation surrounding his absence from the cast lineup.
“Maraming naging usap-usapan about it. Pero in the end hindi ako napili. Naiintindihan ko naman ‘yon. I trust the decisions of the producers and management. Mas sila naman ang nakakaalam niyan, e,” Jake expressed.
Acknowledging Paulo Avelino, who was chosen for the role instead, Jake humbly remarked, “I mean, Paulo Avelino. Sino ba naman ako kay Paulo, ‘di ba, in terms of skills? Yeah, I’m just looking forward sa susunod na project. Baka hindi talaga siya para sa akin.”
The public’s attention was piqued when Viu Philippines teased the casting of the lead roles, sparking anticipation among fans. However, the reveal unveiled Paulo as the chosen actor, leaving many surprised by the unexpected turn of events.
Following the revelation, Jake’s name quickly circulated on social media platforms, with speculation arising regarding his feelings about missing out on the role opposite Kim Chiu in the highly anticipated series adaptation.
