ABS-CBN and GMA Network’s noontime programs, ‘It’s Showtime’ and ‘Tahanang Pinakamasaya,’ experienced opposite rating trends in their weekend episodes.
As per the latest Nielsen NUTAM People survey, ‘It’s Showtime’ ascended in ratings, securing the 9th spot on the overall ratings chart with a 5.1 percent rating on Saturday, March 2. This was 0.4 percent higher than the second-placed ‘EAT…Bulaga,’ which achieved a 4.7 percent rating.
In contrast, the finale episode of TAPE Inc.’s ‘Tahanang Pinakamasaya’ remained significantly lower, securing the 18th position on the overall leaderboard with a rating of 2.8 percent. This placed it 2.3 percent below ‘It’s Showtime’ and 1.9 percent lower than ‘EAT…Bulaga.’
On Tuesday, March 7, TAPE Inc. officially announced the conclusion of ‘Tahanang Pinakamasaya’ in a statement:
“It is with a heavy heart that we inform our televiewers that our noontime show “Tahanang Pinakamasaya” on Kapuso network, GMA 7, will no longer be on air effective March 8, 2024,.
“To the loyal viewers, esteemed hosts, supportive advertisers, hardworking crew and dedicated employees who have been with us from the very beginning – from the longest running noontime show “Eat Bulaga” to the present “Tahanang Pinakamasaya” – our sincerest “Thank you!” and optimistic “See you again!.
