Recent buzz suggests that the ABS-CBN noontime show ‘It’s Showtime’ might be making a significant leap from GTV to GMA Network, following the discontinuation of ‘Tahanang Pinakamasaya.’
In his latest ‘Showbiz Update’ vlog, Ogie Diaz shared insights he gathered about the potential relocation of ‘It’s Showtime’ to GMA Network.
According to Diaz, there’s hearsay circulating that the show could be poised for a head-to-head clash with GMA’s longstanding noontime program, ‘Eat Bulaga.’
However, Diaz also mentioned that ‘It’s Showtime’ is reportedly awaiting confirmation regarding its new home. The decision on its transfer seems to be hinged on what program will fill its slot on GTV, where ‘It’s Showtime’ currently airs.
“May nakarating din sa akin na, from GTV ay ililipat naman sa GMA ‘yung ‘It’s Showtime’. Makikipag-head on nga sa ‘Eat Bulaga’,” shared Ogie Diaz. “Pero ang balita ring nakarating sa akin eh naghihintay lang naman daw ang ‘It’s Showtime’ kung saan sila ililipat. Kasi obviously kapag nilipat sila sa GMA, ano ‘yung programang ipapalit sa GTV?”
The absence of official confirmation keeps viewers in suspense, awaiting further developments in the situation.
Kapuso viewers appear to be ready for the possibility of ‘It’s Showtime’ joining the GMA Network lineup, given its strong viewership even on GTV. The show, known for its vibrant energy and engaging segments, could potentially draw even more viewers if it transitions to GMA’s main channel.
‘It’s Showtime’ has been a staple in Philippine television since its inception, offering entertainment and joy to viewers across the nation. Should the transfer come to fruition, it would mark a significant shift in the landscape of Philippine noontime television.
‘Tahanang Pinakamasaya,’ which debuted on GMA Network in July 2023, bid farewell to its audience on March 2, 2024. Despite its relatively short run, the program introduced a fresh lineup of hosts and left a lasting impression on its viewers.
