Cheryl Ching-Sy, the Assistant Vice President for Drama at GMA Network, reiterated the network’s commitment to integrating social and cultural issues into their soap operas, including their latest show, ‘Lilet Matias, Attorney-At-Law.’

During a press conference held on February 24 at Manila City Hall, Ching-Sy emphasized that all programs on the Kapuso Network, not just their afternoon soap operas like ‘Lilet Matias, Attorney-At-Law,’ and ‘Abot-Kamay Na Pangarap,’ promote awareness and understanding of important societal matters.

“GMA, actually hindi lang siya sa afternoon soaps. I think it’s the brand of GMA Drama where we are always conscious of injecting mga cultural and social issues. So ‘yun ang tatak ng GMA,” she said.

Starring Jo Berry, the show focuses on the Philippine legal system, following the success of ‘Abot-Kamay na Pangarap,’ which delves into social and cultural matters in the medical field.

Ching-Sy expressed optimism about the longevity of GMA Network’s latest soap opera, ‘Lilet Matias, Attorney-At-Law,’ drawing parallels to the success of ‘Abot na Kamay Na Pangarap,’ which has been on the air for a year. She hopes to replicate the success of the medical-themed show through Berry’s legal milieu, indicating the network’s confidence in the show’s potential impact and popularity among viewers.

“Well, we hope it’s going to run as long as ‘Abot na Kamay ng Pangarap.’ Kasi ‘Abot ng Kamay’ has been on air for a year. So we hope to replicate that success in ‘Attorney Lilet Matias.'”

The series airs at 3:20 p.m., Monday to Friday on GMA Afternoon Prime. It is also available on Pinoy Hits and streamable via Kapuso Stream.
