On February 10, Take Me to Banaue stars Brandon Melo and Maureen Wroblewitz discussed the differences between Filipino and American romantic love.
At the Philippine screening of Take Me to Banaue, which LionhearTV covered, Melo connected his character in the film when citing his views about the universal appeal of romance.
“In my opinion, all love is universal, and I think, that was what our movie was about, right? Hank has his own quirks. He has Alexithymia–and he has this numbness right. And right after COVID, I think we could all relate, you know, a bit of disconnect. And what this movie promotes, no matter your cultural differences, you can both share love no matter what.”
Wroblewitz agreed with Melo, noting the happenstance behind their character’s meet cute.
“And I definitely agree, and also they met online, and it’s kind of crazy to think that you could find your soulmates online, so they found each other, Grace and Hank, which is great.”
As for their working environment, Wroblewitz and Melo recounted how they warmed up to each other while on the set of their film.
Take Me to Banaue stars Brandon Melo, Maureen Wroblewitz, Thea Tolentino, and Dylan Rogers with MJ Lastimosa, Archi Adamos, Megan Guthrie, Glenn Franklin, Norman ‘Boobay’ Balbuena, Hilliard Paul Puguon, Lorian Fausto, and Paul Frohlich.
