Anji Salvacion had a noticeable figure during Star Magic’s ‘Spotlight’ press conference on March 13. She credits her transformation to taking better care of her health.
According to the artist, last year was not her best shape. Her immune system was so weak that she constantly got sick for three months.
“Last year wasn’t my best year,” she admitted. “I always get sick.”
Salvacion had a repetitive cycle of getting sick and then getting better. It pressured her to the point that she had to take steroids and other supplements to help her do projects.
The “use of steroids and stuff” caused her weight gain, considering the opportunities she has is a “responsibility” to do her best.
Realizing she had to change things, Salvacion changed her lifestyle in 2024. She now eats and sleeps properly, eating only healthy food and getting at least eight hours of sleep.
Because of what she had gone through the past year, the Kapamilya artist understood the importance of a healthy body.
“Take care of our body. Kasi unang-una sa lahat, ‘yung katawan natin ang puhunan natin. Tapos kung ito nasira, wala akong trabaho ngayon, haha.”
An incredible support system
Salvacion had her worst year in 2023, to the point she almost gave up. She questioned herself, “Why can’t I do my best? Why am I always getting sick?”
The singer, who also made her debut in musicals through “Tabing Ilog,” missed five shows after contracting bronchitis.
“I have missed five shows because I got bronchitis. Kung hindi ako nagpagamot, magkaka-pneumonia na ako, my goodness!”
Her self-esteem and confidence plummeted because of her sickness. However, the motivation of ABS-CBN’s creative director, Jonathan Manalo, and StarPop label head, Rox Santos, encouraged her not to give up.
“You know, they are the ones who have been telling me na, ‘No! You must go on, you must go on!’” she recalled.
Salvacion is healthier than last year. She now focuses on music and has released a new EP, ‘Grit.’
