Idol Philippines and Pinoy Big Brother alumna, Anji Salvacion, considers her new EP (extended play), as a representation of her growth in life and career.
Anji Salvacion talked about the incredible changes she went through, in the past few years, having survived and navigated hateful and negative comments on social media. Alongside countless supporters, the talented Star Magic artist also received an unbelievable amount of bashing and bad judgment, since winning the 10th season of Pinoy Big Brother in 2022.
During our exclusive interview with her at the Dusit Thani hotel in Mactan, Cebu, last February 27, she took the chance of relating her journey to her brand new album, GRIT.
“You have to be grateful for us to survive life. The music talks about how first, we fall in love, and the next time, there is deception, and the next, self-love, there’s self-growth, and you know, and building yourself as a masterpiece, and to the point na wala ka nang pake sa sinasabi ng iba, but keep on loving yourself, and improving yourself, “ she shared, highlighting her early struggles in her career.
“I can’t wait for you guys to listen to the song, ” she added.
For her EP launch happening this March 16 at the Gateway Cineplex, she revealed that she made some preparations to look her best, for her supporters. Asked if she worked out to become fit, she shared that it was all healthy living that allowed her transform to her present form.
“I just wanted to improve self, and I wanted to be healthy as much as possible, that’s why, and eat lang ng healthy food, healthy living—healthy lifestyle that’s a must! Yun lang yung goal ko now and plus na ‘yung body, ” she said.
Salvacion admitted that she took inspiration from her unwanted experiences, in crafting the words and sound of her songs.
”Marami talaga, kasi sometimes in life, you have disappointments, and sometimes, we can not control the people that surround us, ” she said, noting the judgment she received from bashers, while also highlighting the positive support she also got.
“They say things that maybe they don’t mean, and maybe things that they do mean, and you know, the most important thing lang, message ng song, is that ‘be yourself, love yourself more, be stronger, and have that grit in your life for you to reach your goals, “ she added.
”If you don’t have perseverance, if you don’t have grit in life, saan ba tayo mapupunta?, ” she told our team, teasing what she has in store for her fans in 2024.
“I’ve been preparing a lot, and you know 2024 has such a good start. January has been a good start, and February has been even greater, and I hope the next month will be greater. I can’t wait. I’m just here, improving myself and learning everyday, ” she shared.
Salvacion was in Mactan, Cebu, to show her support for Manila Hearing Aid, which, in cooperation with global hearing solutions brand, Phonak, has been instrumental in her younger brother’s journey towards recovery from hearing loss.
