Veteran showbiz columnist Cristy Fermin has voiced her disapproval of Willie Revillame’s alleged behavior at a prayer rally held in Cebu.
During the recent episode of ‘Cristy Ferminute,’ Fermin discussed the feedback she received from attendees of the prayer rally, expressing shock at Revillame’s reported actions.
According to Fermin, multiple individuals reached out to her, expressing concern over Revillame’s conduct during the event. They claimed that the prayer rally, intended as a solemn gathering, was turned into a noontime variety show by the TV host.
Fermin recounted instances where Revillame allegedly publicly criticized and humiliated staff members responsible for organizing the event. Witnesses described the atmosphere as chaotic, with Revillame directing crew members as if he were hosting a television program.
In response to Fermin’s comments, her co-host Romel Chika confirmed the incidents, adding that Revillame’s behavior seemed inappropriate for the solemn nature of the occasion.
Rommel shared, “Para lang talaga tayong nasa studio. Tinuturuan niya lahat pati mga ilaw. Lahat-lahat. ‘Doon kayo, doon. Dapat walisin ‘to. ‘Yong ilaw sabi ko patayin, ‘di ba? ‘Di kayo nakikinig.’”
Fermin expressed disappointment, emphasizing that a prayer rally should be treated with reverence and respect, and not be turned into a spectacle.
The discussion also touched upon Revillame’s recent announcement of his intention to run for senator in the 2025 elections. Fermin questioned whether Revillame’s management style was suited for a political position, given his reported behavior at the prayer rally.
Cristy added, “Tapos may sinabihan siyang babae, ‘Umalis ka diyan namali ako ng ano sa ‘yo. May bracelet ka pa.’ Alam mo, Romel, nakakahiya kasi prayer rally ‘yun. Dapat hindi niya ginawang salagawsaw ‘yung show. Nakakaloka! Akalain mo ipahiya ‘yong lightsmen!?”
Revillame’s camp has yet to respond to Fermin’s criticisms or provide clarification regarding the incidents at the prayer rally. As the controversy unfolds, media outlets remain open to Revillame’s perspective on the matter.
