Former ‘Eat Bulaga’ co-host Toni Rose Gayda has made surprising revelations about her past, sharing that she was once pursued by Vic Sotto, popularly known as Bossing Vic, during their tenure on the iconic noontime show.
In a candid discussion on Julius Babao’s vlog, Gayda opened up about Sotto’s attempt to woo her while they were colleagues on the long-running television program.
However, Gayda candidly admitted that she turned down Sotto’s advances, citing the complexities of maintaining a romantic relationship with a fellow co-worker.
“Hindi ko pinayagan,” Gayda revealed during the conversation. “Maybe, ganoon (nagparamdam) konti… kasi mahirap eh… mahirap talaga kung karelasyon mo ‘yung kasama mo, lalo for me, because sabi ko nga selosa ako eh,” she added.
Gayda’s disclosure sheds light on her personal experiences behind the scenes of one of the most beloved shows in Philippine television history.
Reflecting on her decision to eventually depart from ‘Eat Bulaga’ in 2014, Gayda shared that family considerations played a significant role in her choice. She recounted a challenging period when her mother fell ill, and both of her children required hospitalization for various health issues.
“It came into a point na nagkasakit mommy ko, dalawang anak ko nasa hospital for different reasons may sakit din sila nu’n. Hindi ko nakayanan. Sabi ko, I cannot give my best and nahiya naman ako kay Mr. Tuviera, kay Malou,” she explained, referring to the show’s executives.
Despite the personal challenges she faced during her time on the show, Gayda expressed gratitude for the opportunity to work alongside esteemed personalities such as Tito Sotto, Vic Sotto, and Joey de Leon.
“If there’s a blessing that I would consider is nakatrabaho ko ang TVJ because ang sarap nilang katrabaho, ang sarap nilang kasama… Joey would really make you feel welcome. Si Bossing naman sobrang bait kaya lang mahiyain,” she added.
Gayda’s revelations come in the wake of similar disclosures from other former ‘Eat Bulaga’ hosts, such as Chiqui Hollman, who recently admitted to having had a romantic relationship with Vic Sotto in the past.
